The ASU held a dinner for the members of the advisory councils of the colleges under the patronage of the executive chairman of the board of directors of the university prof. Wahib Khaja, and the president of the university Prof. Ghassan Awad.
The executive chairman of the board of directors called all members of the advisory councils to cooperate in order to improve the quality of education. The delegations wandered in the campus of the university and visited many of the facilities and the halls of the university.
On the other hand the president of the university delivered a lecture titled “Leaders: Are they born or Made?” In his lecture prof. Awad assured that leadership is not limited to certain persons. Every person can be a leader in his profession. He gave examples about international, Arab and local people who made changes in all aspects of life whether in engineering, medicine, social or political sciences in addition to other fields and sciences.
Professor Awad also stated that leaders are sometimes born leaders adding that some of the members of the society are born with certain characteristic and features that help them to be distinguished in certain things. Some of them are also born with certain talents but this is not limited to instinct only. Experience may play a role in the shaping of the distinguished leaders according to the opinion of professor Ghassan.
