This course is intended for international students interested in the study of Law in English at degree level which will prepare them for a broad range of legal and non-legal careers, including legal practice in Bahrain.
The course has a first year (Level S) that is designed for school leavers in Bahrain and the Gulf region to develop English language and study skills in the context of aspects of English and Bahraini Law, while preparing them to continue with their studies at the specialist levels (4, 5 and 6) of the four- year course. During the first year, there are three compulsory modules required by Bahrain’s Higher Education Council (Arabic, Bahrain Civilization and History and Human Rights) and that are part of the Kingdom’s strategy to strengthen the level of Arabic language and promote the Arabic culture.
Upon successful completion of the degree programme, a student will be awarded two sets of certificates and transcripts – one from LSBU and one from ASU. Thus, these are validated programmes that lead to dual certificates.

In the first year, to engage, support and enable every student to develop intellectually and personally through the acquisition of legal knowledge, English language proficiency and academic skills which will prepare them for the study of Law at undergraduate level in English.
In years 2/3/4, to engage, support and enable every student to develop intellectually and personally through the acquisition of legal knowledge and professional skills and attitudes equipping students to become critical practitioners and life-long learners. These skills, attitudes and knowledge will enable students to achieve their goals of further study and employment, including professional qualification as a Barrister, Legal Executive or Solicitor, in a continually changing labour market
