The International Conference on Decision Sciences and Applications (DASA 2024)
The International Conference on Decision Sciences and Applications (DASA 2024) was held at Applied Science University, under the patronage of Her Excellency Dr. Diana Abdulkarim Al Jahromi, Secretary-General of the Higher Education Council (HEC) and Deputy Chairperson of the Higher Education Council’s Board of Trustees.
The conference served as a pivotal opportunity to reinforce the Kingdom of Bahrain’s status as a global academic and research hub. It provided a valuable platform for researchers and students to interact with international experts and showcase their research. The event also underscored Bahrain’s commitment to fostering a knowledge-based economy and promoting scientific innovation.
The two-day conference was organized in collaboration with Ajman University (UAE), Amman Arab University (Jordan), and the Gulf University for Science and Technology (Kuwait). More than 200 universities and academic institutions from over 50 countries participated, with 437 research papers submitted by 1,568 researchers. The accepted papers will be published in the IEEE Xplore database, reflecting the exceptional scientific quality of the conference’s content.
Professor Waheeb Al Khaja, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, emphasized the significance of the conference in addressing a critical issue that impacts all sectors: decision-making. He highlighted that, in an era of digital transformation and artificial intelligence, data-driven and technology-enabled decision-making has become crucial.
Professor Hatem Masri, University President, also highlighted the importance of the conference. He noted its role in facilitating communication among experts from diverse, multidisciplinary fields such as technology, management, engineering, and social sciences. This fosters interdisciplinary collaboration and contributes to repositioning knowledge to address real-world challenges in business, healthcare, education, and beyond.
