Academic Accreditation: The Most Important Institutional achievement in the Academic Field
The university has been academically accredited based on the report of the accreditation committee who visited the university in June 2018. This evaluation is based on the regulations of the academic accreditation system for higher education institutions which was presented by the General Secretariat of the Higher Education Council (HEC) in cooperation with the British Accreditation Council.
The University has successfully achieved the eight academic standards (31 institutions) such as scientific research, innovation, leadership and community service and sub-indices (243) covering key aspects of the work, governance, strategy and financial management, and student admission.
The Chairmen of the Board of Trustees, Prof Waheeb Al-Khaja, stated that the University is determined to develop its academic system, enhance performance, and advance the results that provide government and private sectors with qualified graduates.
He, expressed his pride and happiness in this honourable achievement, praising the outstanding level of hard work done by the university members. He thanked the University President, Prof Ghassan Aouad and all the academic and administrative members for their efforts at promoting the universityโs name locally and in the Arab world. He stressed that the university is determined to develop its academic system and improve performance.
He also mentioned that the Universityโs reliability was due to its keenness to carry out substantive and comprehensive evaluations of educational results and quality assurance. This was done by adhering to scientific frameworks, methodologies and standards that confirm the validity of the educational process. This gives confidence in the high-quality education provided by the University to students, parents, employers and others in relationship with the University.
Prof Aouad, congratulated the Chairman of the Board of Directors, H.E Sameer bin Abdullah Nass, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Prof Waheeb Al-Khaja and all the members of the Board of Directors and Trustees for this achievement, which is the most important in the universityโs scientific and academic progress.
He pointed out that the Universityโs achievement of academic accreditation is an important addition to the universityโs many steady accomplishments. He pointed out that this achievement is a culmination of the efforts of the academic and administrative members of the University over the past years to meet the international standards of accreditation.
He also said that this achievement is an indication of the Universityโs quality standards in accordance with international best practice. He pointed out that it is the result of the thoughtful collective work and sincere perseverance of all employees at ASU to develop the administrative and academic performance and to improve the curricula and educational results.
He concluded by stressing that the universityโs academic accreditation is an international honour to the organised method the university has practised since its establishment. The new accreditation emphasises the universityโs strength, reputation, and its approach to developing performance and improving the quality of education.
