Student won second place in the Sixth Royal Humanitarian Initiatives Competition. Business Administration student, Sheikha Al-Zayed, won second place for the best humanitarian initiative in the sixth Royal Humanitarian Initiatives Competition organized by the Royal Humanitarian Foundation of Bahrain. Her initiative was a mobile application called โiHandโ that facilitates connecting people with disabilities with relevant stakeholders (governmental, NGOs, and private institutions), supporting and rehabilitating people with disabilities, and fostering their talents and developing their capabilities. |

Master student and faculty publish on green human resources Master student in Human Resources Management Najat Mansour has participated in the 2022 ASU International Conference in Emerging Technologies for Sustainability and Intelligent Systems (ICETSIS), and published a paper titled โThe role of green human resource management practices in achieving sustainable development in the health sector in the Kingdom of Bahrainโ, and co-authored with faculty member Dr Adel Alzyoud. The study aimed to clarify the role of green human resource management practices (GHRMP) with its dimensions (green employment, green training, and green performance evaluation) in achieving sustainable development in its dimensions (economic, environmental, and social dimensions) in the health sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain represented by Ibn Al Nafees Hospital and Al Resalah Medical Center. Business Administration students won first place in Bahrain Climate Connection Champions BBA students Ayesha madany, Rasheed albinzaid and abdalrahman Al Hassan won the first place in โBahrain Climate Connection Championsโ, organized by the HEC and the British Institute. Their innovative project, named โWatergyโ, brings solutions to water usage and recycling at the industrial level. The project is currently patented. |

Thought leadership with the ministry of commerce and trade The Dean and Associate Professor of Finance, Dr Ramzi Nekhili, based on his extensive background as consultant in valuation and investment, served as part of a working team for Dar Al Bilad newspaper under the patronage of His Excellency Zayed Bin Rashid Al Zayani, the minister of industry and trade.ย Culminating a six-month effort, a report by the team created a list of 50 top companies in Bahrain for the year 2023.ย Adopting a financial analysis and based on financial data, including asset size, market capitalization, net revenues, the report serves at identifying the leading role the local companies have in supporting the economic growth of the Kingdom of Bahrain.ย This report serves as a guide for policy making in enhancing standards for transparency and competitiveness, and supporting sectors contributing to the GDP growth. Transfer of expertise to the Ministry of Labor, Directorate of NGOs Support Faculty members Dr Ahmed Shatat and Dr Mohamed Hammami of the department of management information systems have shared their knowledge and expertise in creating an e-knowledge platform accommodating various topics in management, accounting, and information systems to the Ministry of Labor, Directorate of NGOs Support. The platform is serving as a body of practical knowledge for upskilling the directorateโs employees. |
