The Department of General Studies oversees the teaching of common courses for students from different University disciplines. The courses offered by this Department are called the University Requirements under which, all the students enrolled at the University, must complete. The idea behind the University Requirements is to create a common intellectual background or platform for University students, allowing them access to other important realms of knowledge beside their specialization. These Requirements are classified as Compulsory and Elective courses within each bachelor’s degree programme at the Applied Science University.
