In line with the Universityโs efforts and strategies in sustaining itself as a leading Bahraini University, the University is also proud to support the national football team given its commitment to serving the Kingdom and its wise leadership. The national teamโs golden victory at the 26th Arabian Gulf Cup (Khaleeji Zain 26), which brought immense joy to the Kingdom of Bahrain, showcased the Universityโs meaningful contribution at every stage, aligning itself with the dream and exerting every effort to assist the team.
To this aim, the University leveraged all its resources to achieve this ambition, starting with support for the team that extended beyond moral encouragement to embrace active participation through its students and alumni to be present on the field.
The Universityโs commitment went further into solidifying its dedication by granting a full scholarship to its student who is also the star player Abdulla Al-Khulasi, in recognition of his outstanding efforts and contributions in achieving such a historic victory.
The Universityโs efforts didnโt end there; it went a step further by celebrating its champion students and graduates, Ismail Abdullatif, Abdulwahab Al-Malood, and Abdulla Al-Khulasi, who played pivotal roles in the national football teamโs gold victory at the 26th Arabian Gulf Cup (Khaleeji Zain 26). This triumph marked the teamโs championship for the second time in its history. The ceremony took place at the University, as the champions were warmly greeted and honoured by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Professor Waheeb Al-Khaja, and the University President, Professor Hatem Masri, witnessing the presence of a large gathering of both the academic and administrative members, students, and alumni.
The Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Professor Waheeb Al-Khaja, In his speech on this occasion shared greetings from the Board of Directors and Board of trustees to the national team champions, noting that their achievements demonstrate a sound balance of dedication and professionalism. He highlighted the Universityโs commitment to graduating national talents capable of delivering creativity and excellence, accentuating that the University makes every effort to support young energies and provides everything necessary to prepare generations capable of achieving success in multiple areas.
Likewise, he praised the outstanding performance of the Universityโs students and graduates who played with the national team during the Gulf Cup, contributing to this remarkable achievement. He emphasised the Universityโs pride in nurturing talented individuals who excel not only in academia but also in various fields, including sports, and contribute to notable successes at a national and regional level.
For his part, Professor Hatem Masri the University president stressed the importance of honouring the champions who have added a new achievement to the journey of Bahraini sports. He pointed out that the University has always been keen on recognising its students and graduates who have contributed to serving the King of Bahrain and achieving its long-term accomplishments. He further expressed his pride in the student Abdulla Al-Khulasi and the graduates Abdulwahab Al-Malood and Ismail Abdullatif, who played a key role in this national achievement, and to this end, he affirmed that the University supports its
students in all fields, contributing to preparing highly innovative generations qualified to excel in their fields while servicing the Kingdom of Bahrain.
